Antique Shell Cameo Necklace in Sterling & Marcasites, Edwardian Era

This necklace features a hand-carved shell cameo depicting a classical female profile set within an ornate sterling silver frame accented with original marcasites, suspended from a vintage sterling silver chain. Dating to approximately the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, it exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and romantic styling of antique cameo jewelry.

Condition is very good antique condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use. The shell carving remains crisp with beautifully defined features, and all original marcasites are intact. The original bail has been professionally replaced with a new sterling silver bail, and the original sterling mark has worn away with age.
