Antique Tiffany & Co Chrysanthemum Sterling Silver Serving Spoon 8.5"

This antique Tiffany & Co. sterling silver serving spoon features the celebrated Chrysanthemum pattern, with exceptionally detailed dimensional chrysanthemum blossoms and sweeping foliage extending across both sides of the handle and onto the reverse of the bowl. The handle bears an ornate period script monogram. Designed by Charles T. Grosjean and patented in 1880, Chrysanthemum is one of Tiffany & Co.'s most recognizable and highly collected historic flatware patterns. This example bears the early “M” mark associated with Edward C. Moore's tenure at Tiffany & Co.

Condition is good antique condition with surface scratches, light tarnish and wear consistent with age and use. There is notable roughness, wear and some loss/damage to the raised decoration at the very tip of the handle, as shown clearly in the photographs. The bowl retains its shape and the elaborate relief decoration remains well defined overall. The handle bears an ornate script monogram whose exact initials have not been identified.
